Majestic experiences on the Schilthorn

In the Bernese Oberland, high on the summit of the Schilthorn, the Piz Gloria is enthroned. Already in the 60s, the incomparable location was able to inspire. Scouts of the film crew for the James Bond flick “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service” discovered this place. So it happened that in 1968 a film crew from urban London took possession of the rustic mountain village of Mürren. Only one year later, in 1969, the film with its impressive stunts and unique mountain scenery in front of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau was released in cinemas and the Schilthorn with its imposing summit building, called Piz Gloria in the film, achieved worldwide fame.

The 007 experience on the Schilthorn

To this day, visitors can follow in 007’s footsteps. Even today, the summit at 2970 meters above sea level still inspires guests from all over the world. In the 360° restaurant “Piz Gloria” you can indulge in culinary delights. Afterwards, get to the bottom of history, for example in the interactive experience exhibition Bond World. Or simply enjoy the unique mountain panorama of the Bernese Alps and the foothills of the Alps.

For incentive groups, the excursion offers a successful change from the daily meeting routine. The creative environment, which already inspired Goethe and Tolkien, gives rise to ideas, and at the Martini workshop, conviviality is not neglected either.

But the summit does not only shine at daytime. When the daytime business on the summit slowly comes to an end, the exclusive experience for incentive groups really begins. The perfect way to start is with a sumptuous aperitif featuring local produce from Mürren and the surrounding area on the spacious sun terrace at the Birg mid-station. As the evening atmosphere slowly settles in, the guests continue their journey up to the Schilthorn. This is now exclusively at their disposal – a mountain all to themselves, what an experience! The experience is perfectly rounded off with a supporting program designed individually according to the customer’s wishes, be it a 007-themed evening with casino, a concert or a presentation including panel discussions. There are no limits to creativity, and the private sunset show behind the peaks of the foothills of the Alps does its part to inspire guests. After the summit experience, the cable car brings all guests safely back down to the valley. What remains are memories that even George Lazenby, the James Bond from the film back then, would rave about after more than 50 years.
