Seminar room with view in Berghaus Rothorn Kulm
Since September 2022, the Berghaus Rothorn Kulm has been extensively renovated. At the beginning of June, the popular excursion destination at 2266 m.a.s.l. opened with a new “Marché concept” to cope with the crowds of visitors even on peak days. A new seminar room for up to 12 people was also built. So now nothing stands in the way of a meeting with a view, brainstorming in the fresh air or walk & talk to the summit. Whether as a day event or with overnight stay. Both are possible.
More about the opening of the Berghaus Rothorn Kulm as well as impressions can be found in the article on htr.ch.
How to get to the Berghaus Rothorn Kulm
The journey to Brienz is easily possible by public transport. Coming from Bern, via Thun, Interlaken in the direction of Meiringen or from Lucerne via the Brünig Pass to Meiringen and further, without changing trains to Brienz. This trip alone with the panorama car is worth doing without your car. This solves the parking problem in Brienz and makes the journey relaxed. Directly opposite the Brienz train station is the valley station of the Brienzer Rothorn cable car. From there, the cogwheel railroad with steam operation has been running since 1892, but only from the beginning of June to the end of October.
Overnight stay in a million-star hotel
Are you looking for a special experience in the Bernese Oberland for your participants? Then we recommend an overnight stay at the Berghaus Rothorn Kulm. Enjoy the atmosphere high up on the mountain, with magnificent views and, if you’re lucky, the most beautiful sunset of your life. Getting up early is worth it. The morning atmosphere on the roofs of the Alps is indescribable and gives energy for new projects and tasks.
After a typical mountain breakfast, we will head back down to Brienz, the “carver’s village”, which has a long tradition in woodworking and still has a carving school and violin making school. You can learn more about this at the Museum of Woodcarving in Brienz or visit the Ballenberg Open-Air Museum and the Trauffer Erlebniswelt.
Continue either by boat, across the turquoise blue Lake Brienz, past the Grand Hotel Giessbach with its impressive waterfall. Then to Iseltwald, Bönigen and Interlaken Ost and from there by train to Bern or Zurich. Or you can stay another day and explore the Jungfrau region with its numerous excursion destinations.
