Igloo Workshop – A winter experience in a class of its own

A perfect team event with winter experience of the extra class promises an igloo workshop. In the midst of a unique winter landscape in the Jungfrau region on the Birg – Schilthorn we build our igloos. And in between we enjoy a view to the famous mountain scenery of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

Before we start with the igloo adventure, we make a detour as an introduction and enjoy the view at the Skyline Walk. With more action it goes on. Because on the opposite side of the Skyline Walk is the entrance to the Thrill Walk, which leads down into the vertical walls of the imposing rock massif. At dizzy heights, the steel construction nestles along the rock, then swings under the viewing platform and the aerial tramway and ends below the top station. Various additional elements such as a crawl tunnel, glass floor, a rope or a cattle grid add further excitement to the tingling adventure.

Igloo workshop followed by an aperitif

But enough action – the igloo is waiting and we walk about 10 minutes to our building site for the igloos. Here we have already provided all the necessary material and the workplaces for the teams are prepared with the snow groomer, so that the sawing of the snow blocks works perfectly.

Who will be in charge of the construction, where are the chord / snow block saws, what about the structural analysis? Together in the team we work – laugh – tremble, whether the snow block holds and the structural analysis is correct. Our goal is to build a great igloo together as a team, so that we can enjoy our aperitif together afterwards.

Everyone in the team is needed, be it as a sawyer or block carrier as well as to fill the cracks of the blocks on the igloo with snow. There are opportunities for the whole team to get actively involved.

After about 4 hours we made it – the igloo is standing! SUPER – after this igloo workshop the team is certainly proud. The igloo stands and we can go inside and enjoy our aperitif or of course outside with the atmospheric view. With so much creativity from the snow sawing, there is certainly still a great aperitif place made of snow.
