The Verzasca Valley (Valle Verzasca)

The Verzasca Valley is one of the most popular excursion destinations in Ticino. The drive into the idyllic valley alone is spectacular. The road climbs steeply upwards curve after curve. There is only room for one car and secretly you hope that there is no oncoming traffic. And suddenly it appears, the gigantic high dam wall. Take a short break and walk over the wall. About in the middle is the jump ramp of the “Golden Eye” bungee jumping, named after the James Bond movie of the same name. Granted, this is really not for the faint of heart. However, if there are daring adrenaline junkies among your conference participants, then this is the right place for them.

Verzasca Valley – the green heart of Ticino

If you drive further down the valley towards Sonogno, in the rearmost village of the valley, you will pass several small grottos. Take your time and enjoy a glass of Ticino wine in the shade of a chestnut tree. This is pure quality of life and will make you forget very quickly that you have actually travelled to Ticino for a business event. One Ticino hotspot you can’t miss is the Roman bridge “Ponte die Salti” in Lavertezzo. The curved stone bridge leads to the other side of the Verzasca. Here you will also find a small grotto with Ticino specialities. Sun worshippers cavort on the washed-out stones and some even dare to jump into the cool waters of the Verzasca.

Treat yourself to this time out and visit the beautiful valley with the turquoise-blue Verzasca. A dream come true for all Ticino lovers and those who have become one by now. You can visit various villages by bike, motorbike or on foot, explore the Legend Trail or discover the historic centre of Corippo.
