For a kick-off meeting with participants from several countries, Zurich is often the most practical point on the map – not because the city sits geographically in the middle, but because Zurich Airport brings travel, accommodation and meeting space together in the shortest possible distance. Anyone planning a kick-off meeting for the first quarter of 2027 with teams from multiple countries can factor this advantage straight into the choice of venue.

What happens at the airport decides whether the first day of travel can still become a working day. THE CIRCLE provides the right infrastructure for exactly that: meeting rooms, two connected hotels, and a location that cuts the distance from the gate to the first agenda item down to a few minutes.

This advantage becomes especially clear in comparison: a kick-off meeting in a city without a direct airport connection almost always requires an additional transfer between arrival and venue. For international groups, this transfer adds up across every participant into a noticeable loss of programme time – an effort that a venue directly at the airport avoids from the outset.

Once participants are arriving from five or six countries, logistics itself becomes an agenda item. Every extra connection, every transfer from the station to the hotel, costs time that is later missing from the workshop. Anyone organising a kick-off meeting for 2027 should plan for this time from the start, rather than improvising on the day of the event.

A venue directly at the airport shortens exactly this calculation. The distance from the gate to the meeting room can be reduced to a few minutes, which hands back half a day of programme time without extending participants’ travel time. This principle also applies to seminar hotels across Switzerland, but for internationally travelling groups it becomes the decisive factor.

A kick-off meeting at the start of the year usually comes down to a tight time window: one day, occasionally two, for strategy, objective-setting and team cohesion for the year ahead. If part of the group arrives in the morning and another part only in the afternoon, the actual start of the programme shifts automatically. A venue where arrival and meeting room practically coincide keeps that window small – regardless of each participant’s country of origin.

Zurich Airport railway station sits directly beneath the terminal. From there, travellers reach Zurich Main Station in around ten minutes, within a network of some 300 train connections a day. THE CIRCLE itself is a short walk from the terminals and clearly signposted throughout, with the Hyatt Regency Zurich Airport Convention Center and the Hyatt Place as directly connected hotels.

For a group travelling across several time zones, this means landing, room and first agenda item are all in one place. No shuttle bus, no additional transfer, no time buffer missing from the programme. For organisers, it also means less coordination on the day of the event itself: instead of juggling several pick-up times and schedules, a single set of directions suffices for the whole group.

For participants travelling from Germany and Austria, rail connections matter just as much as flight schedules. Zurich Airport railway station offers direct connections that make a second airport unnecessary as a detour:

Anyone needing exact departure times for a specific date should check directly with Deutsche Bahn or the SBB, as connections can change between timetable periods. In practice, this choice of direct connections means that teams from Stuttgart, Munich or Innsbruck can travel without flying, without a second transfer, and with an arrival time that fits exactly into the kick-off meeting’s schedule.

In the 2026 summer timetable, Zurich Airport serves 212 destinations worldwide with 67 airlines, with SWISS as the largest carrier on site. For teams arriving from several continents at once, this density means fewer changes via a third hub and therefore less risk of missed connections on the day of travel itself.

For organising a kick-off meeting with international attendance, this means a large part of the guest list can travel via a direct connection, rather than researching a connecting route for each person individually. That reduces the coordination effort during the invitation phase and lowers the risk of a missed connecting flight disrupting the first day of the programme. This direct connectivity is particularly noticeable – in both travel budget and schedule – for groups travelling from North America, the Middle East or Asia.

THE CIRCLE brings together the infrastructure a kick-off meeting needs in one place:

THE CIRCLE also positions itself as a business and lifestyle destination directly at the airport, with shops, dining and event spaces under one roof. For a kick-off meeting, this is a practical side benefit: a joint dinner or a short break between two programme blocks can be organised without any additional journey.

For further properties in the immediate airport region – for instance when a larger group needs to be split across several venues – it is worth looking at the seminar hotels at Zurich Airport.

If the majority of participants are travelling from within Switzerland itself, for example by car from the Zurich, Bern or Basel region, the time saved by being close to the airport carries less weight. For a kick-off meeting with a retreat character, deliberately intended to create distance from everyday routine, a destination such as Zurich away from the airport or a Swiss mountain region is often the better choice.

The honest assessment is therefore this: an airport location wins precisely when the international journey itself becomes the limiting factor in the programme – not automatically for every meeting with Swiss participation. Making this distinction at the invitation stage saves a discussion about lost time on the day of the event.

Anyone organising a kick-off meeting with participants from several countries gets back, at Zurich Airport, exactly the time that would otherwise be lost between landing and the first item on the agenda. Ten minutes to the main station, direct trains to Stuttgart, Munich and Innsbruck, and a hub with 212 destinations turn the journey itself into an afterthought.

This calculation pays off above all when several countries genuinely need to sit at the same table. The more international the list of participants, the greater the effect the airport location has on the first day of the programme – and the more likely the shorter journey ultimately pays off in extra working time.

Right at the Station, Right at the Terminal
